Yoto V200 rocks QVGA on the cheap

Sure, there are plenty of Chinese manufacturers still doing that boring old “copy Apple” bit, but it’s great to see some real innovation like this Yoto V200, which is dominated by a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, and yet still makes room for miniSD and other fancy features. Codec support includes DivX and H.264, and the player sports a microphone, some sort of music sharing feature (probably just a built-in speaker), an ebook reader, a photo viewer and a game of Russian Squares. The best news of all is that this juicy player, which features 1GB of built-in memory, goes for a mere 399 Chinese yuan, around $51 US. Sounds like if you can track one down it might a good deal even with the cost of importation, and we should be seeing this hit Chinese shelves sometime around the Chinese New Year in February.
