Google Maps Plane Crash Mashup

Sometimes the best linkbait is right under our noses and in the form of a simple mashup. Aviation enthusiast Jeremy Zawodny (also of Yahoo) just featured a Plane Crash Google Maps Mashup on his blog which uses the GPS coordinates that the FAA and NTSB use to track airplane crashes.

The result is AVCRASH, a useful aviation tool which is brought to us by Aviation Marine Insurance Services.

Smart. Simple. Linkable.

It would be interesting to track how many aviation sites, blogs, and Google fans link to their AVCRASH tool, as the end result is sure to be higher rankings, good publicity and some interest in their insurance service from those exposed to the business via their resourceful tool.
