UPS has lost my business!
By Geek News Central | January 4, 2007
Over the past 10 years of living in Hawaii I have never once had a package that was not delivered on time when shipped with Federal Express and let me state this, they will from now on get 100% of all my shipping business.
Sadly I cannot say the same for UPS over the past 2 years we have had numerous packages not delivered on time and have had to run countless traces on boxes its almost a running joke in this house. I used to be a big fan of UPS. today I have lost complete faith in UPS and I will not ship anything through them nor will I order any products from any company that use them as a shipper. They have screwed me one to many times!
Today I was expecting a highly critical component to be delivered to the house that is not available commercially here in Hawaii, it was shipped 2nd day air and was picked up by UPS on the 29th. I was concerned yesterday when the package did not arrive, and contacted UPS and was told it would be here today. I knew yesterday it would not make it here on time today when I saw that it had not left the shipping facility from which it had been picked up from. Well the package did not arrive today and it is still showing via the tracking system as being in the original shipping facility.
Here is a clue UPS you need to invest in some training skills with the people you have taking lost packages calls. I am sure they have to deal with a lot of people just like me everyday that have lost packages, but guess what just quit loosing packages! UPS’s incompetency is costing me money! When they brought up my file they said oh we have a message from your call yesterday out to the driver to let us know if he has your package. My response was how come it takes 30 hours to contact a driver you do realize he is now at home watching TV.
What has happened to the day when a customer rep could at least apologize? A simple we are very sorry you have had this issue and here is how we are going to fix it would have went a long ways! Instead they tell me I have to waste more time and contact the shipper, and once UPS is contacted by the shipper UPS would start a trace but I could not initiate a trace! What is wrong with that policy. They need to start a trace when they don’t deliver the package on time!
I am sure in about a month the package will show up like last couple of times. But you can guarantee I will NEVER give UPS and more of my business.
